Amarchinta Village, with a population of about 11,000 is the most populous village, located in Amarchinta Tehsil of Wanaparthy district in the state Telangana in India. Total geographical area of Amarchinta village is 19 Sq kms and it is the biggest village by area in the sub district. Population density of the village is 583 persons per kms.

Weaving is one of the main livelihood activities of Amarchinta and surrounding villages’ artisans, the total population in Amarchinta village is about 15000 from 3200 families, 315 families from weaving community. 100% depending on traditional activity handloom weaving for their livelihood.

Amarchinta weavers were very famous not only in the state but also in all over India. Even before the development of Modern technology, Amarchinta Weavers Cooperative Society was registered in 1949, still active, with new generation managing committee members, willing to develop the artisans with upgraded technology skills, to bring back the weaver’s community to self-sustainable.
