Cluster Snapshot

Chikkaballapur Zari & Multi-Product Cluster is situated 20 Km away from Chikkaballapur town and 70 Km from state capital Bangalore. The major activity is centralized at Siddlaghatta, Bagepally, Gowribidanur and Chikkaballapur Blocks. Dress material including dyeing, printing and garmenting (50%), Zari Products like Sherwanis, Kurtis, besides traditional silk Sarees (50%) made of both Khadi and hand looms are the major products of the cluster, with minor product diversification in to blended Sarees/ dress material observed in cluster region. The nature of work is almost similar to Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, but the cluster artisans are working totally in an un-organized set-up.
