About Cluster

Lahaul is marked by a central mass of uniformly high mountains and massive glaciers. The two rivers, Chandra and Bhaga, which rise on either side of the Baralacha La, flow through the narrow Chandra and Bhaga valleys. Lahaul is a land of fascinating Buddhist art and culture. The monasteries of Lahaul-Spiti are rich repositories of ancient murals, thankas, woodcarving and golden images of Padmasambhava. The valley lies at a height of 2745 metres above sea level. Summer in this valley is cool and pleasant with green grass and alpine flowers.

Lilium growers of Gondhla village are situated 15 kms from Keylong, L&S that now onwards will be named as Gondhla Lilium Cluster. With the objective of promoting Lilium cultivation and reducing rising unemployment in villages like Raling, Jagla, Murticha, Teeling, Khangsar, Khinang, Purad, Fuktal, Thorang, Dalang, Gondla, Nukar, Shooling, Mooling, Bargul, Gompa Thang, Yangla, Bargul, Kardang, Khorpani and Akholthang. Lilium is a high value bulbous floriculture crop, which has a fourth rank in the international flower trade. Normal season of growing lilies is from October to April in north India and low hills.
