About Cluster

Kasrawad Art Handloom Cluster has its historic importance since the 5th century a small town situated on the banks of river Narmada in the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh in India which is a hub of more than 2500 weavers actively engaged in the practice of traditional weaving of the beautiful elegant drape. The handloom saree and fabric composition usually used here is 18/20 - 20/22D silk and 2/80 - 2/120s cotton yarn which gives the fabric its soft feel.

The Kasrawad Art Handloom Cluster is known for its authentic weaves which are handwoven with silk cotton yarn and zari or brocade in varied design especially in the borders which replicate the design inscribed on the walls of the Maheshwar fort. The fabric is mainly used in designing Maheshwari Sarees, other than dupattas and dress materials.
